Program Development Coordinator

SocialCoast is seeking a part-time, permanent coordinator to develop our programming  and co-sponsored events in the upcoming months. With our partners, primarily the Victoria Event Centre and the Community Action Bus, we wish to add professionalism and quality to our unique take on hosting fundraisers, community events, and celebrations.

Staffing Allotment: 10 hours / week to start. Reviewed at 3 months.

Compensation: $17.50/hr

 

Job Summary:

As the Program Development Coordinator, you will help to find event organizers to host community events, and then assist them in hosting a quality experience for guests. This position will also include developing the services that SocialCoast offers, engaging with our community, and growing the overall capacity of this project.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide support with online ticket sales, event promotion, and volunteer recruitment through SocialCoast.
  2. Connect with other production companies, non-profits, and individuals that will bottom-line SocialCoast community events.
  3. Uphold our commitment to funding grassroots community projects through the events that we support.
  4. Secondary duties include fund development, and / or event coordination when time allows.

 

Work Environment:

  • Working both with a team, and independently. Checking in monthly with a SocialCoast representative.
  • Work schedule is flexible, with focus on task completion in a timely manner.
  • Shared office space available upon request.
  • Laptop, printer, internet, and other office supplies available upon request.

Preferred Skills, Training, and Experience

The preferred candidate will have skills & experience inclusive of some or all of the following:

  • Experience with non-profit administration.
  • Experience as an events coordinator.
  • Experience with WordPress and social media platforms.
  • Experience with volunteer coordination and / or managing staff.
  • Active engagement in arts & cultural communities.
  • Experience in not-for-profit organizations and/or community groups.
