The Retail Action Network is committed to being an effective direct action organisation for the benefit of workers while at the same time committed to keeping your personal information private. We may share your information, for the purpose of organising campaigns or seeking assistance from other activists and professionals in the worker’s movement.

Here are some of the things you should know about the information that you provide to us:

  • We may share your information with the following groups that we organise with: Together Against Poverty Society; Employment Standards Legal Advocacy Project; United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1518; Vancouver Island Human Rights Coalition
  • All organisers that that we work with closely have signed a Confidentiality Agreement that has them commit to absolute privacy of your personal information, should they be given access to it. Access to information is only given as needed for the support in a campaign.
  • The Retail Action Network may take anecdotes of experiences from workers that we have helped in the past. You will not be named, and we will do our best to minimize any identifying factors.
  • We will keep you updated on campaigns and organising that we are doing in the community. You may unsubscribe at any time.

The Retail Action Network is a worker run organisation. We don’t provide a service, as much as we organise with workers so that we can achieve justice by our own means. While we would never turn down helping out a worker in need, we may ask for your support in future organising that we do, and so that you can help other workers in need.

The Retail Action Network will never insist that you are a public part of a campaign in a complaint that you have, however, it is expected that you will stay involved in any campaign involves your employer, and give us direction on how to proceed as a group.

Any questions or concerns involving this can be sent to info@islandsolidarity.org
